Trade bars with a friend on one hanging studio mic.

Videohot

Hotel Lobby AI is a TikTok trend from September 2026 in which two people stand in an orange studio and trade rap lines into one hanging microphone, copying a 2022 live performance of the song "Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew)". ZapVid turns your photo and a friend's photo into your own 15-second version with the same moves and mouth timing, in vertical 9:16 or horizontal 16:9. It takes 10 to 20 minutes and uses 100 credits in 720p or 200 credits in 1080p ($9.99 buys 100).

What is the Hotel Lobby AI trend?

The trend copies a studio performance of the rap song "Hotel Lobby (Unc & Phew)" that was posted on YouTube on June 17, 2022. Two rappers stand in front of a plain orange wall and pass the verse back and forth into a single microphone hanging between them. The clip passed 100 million views on its own.

In September 2026 the same setup became an AI video trend on TikTok and Instagram. People started putting two other faces in the booth: themselves and a friend, a parent and a kid, a couple, and very often two pets. The joke is seeing an unlikely pair deliver the bars with full confidence.

Our example uses two original AI characters in black suits. Your video puts you on the left and your friend on the right, with the same back-and-forth, gestures and mouth movements as the performance.

How to make a Hotel Lobby AI video

  1. 01

Upload your photo and a friend

Add one clear photo of yourself, then one photo of the friend who raps with you. You take the left spot and your friend takes the right. You can also go solo and keep our second character next to you.

  2. 02

Pick the format and quality, then press Generate

Choose vertical 9:16 for TikTok and Reels or horizontal 16:9 for the wide original look, and 720p or 1080p. The AI copies the back-and-forth, the gestures and the mouth timing. Your video is ready in 10 to 20 minutes, and you can leave the page while it renders.

  3. 03

    Post it with the sound

Download the MP4. When you post on TikTok or Instagram Reels, pick the Hotel Lobby sound in the app. The mouths and moves follow the song, so the lines land on the beat.

Photo tips for the booth

  • One person per photo, facing the camera with the face fully visible.
  • Waist up or full body works best, because both of you are seen from head to knees.
  • Your clothes carry over. Sunglasses only appear if you wear them in your photo.
  • Avoid heavy filters and very small or blurry photos.
